    Turkey is much more than its jarring image of a “bridge between East and West” . Turkey is packed with ancient monuments left over from a parade of winners and endowed with showcase scenery that never fails to impress. It is famous for its vibrant culture, famous food, vast history and dazzling destinations that straddles Asia and Europe. Turkey is famous for its beach and cultural destinations but now city breaks in Turkey is also attracting tourists in bulk. 



    If you are planning  a trip to Turkey its very difficult to select  destinations to visit, here i have a systematic travelling plan for you and your family which gives you an  overview of Turkey and help you to select best places to visit among many popular destinations. In this article i also tried to prove you many facts and necessary information which helps you to travel in a safe and easy manner . Here's is a quick guide its beaches, shopping hubs, cultural sites, cruise destinations and highlights of breathtaking places. 

    Best Places To Visit In Turkey  

    1. Instanbul


    Istanbul was once the capital of  Byzantine Empires and Ottoman but now it is one of the largest city in turkey and the world. Istanbul  has  approximately 12.56 million foreign visitors per year its all because of its beautiful places and heart breaking sceneries. It is named as European Capital of Culture and fifth most visited city in the world.   The city's biggest attraction is its historic center, partially listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its cultural and entertainment hub can be found across the city's natural harbor, the Golden Horn, in the Beyoğlu district. Historic sites, dining, shopping hubs , night lingh and impressive architecture makes it a most visited city. Here , i also have a list of places to visit in Istanbul which are Aya Sofya, Aphesus , Sumela Monastery , Topkapi Palace, Pamukkale and many more. 

    2. Cappadocia


    Cappadocia is situated in Central Anatolia , it is best known for its  unique moon-like landscape, underground cities, cave churches and houses carved in the rocks. It is one of the top destinations to take hot air balloon ride . The area was featured in several films due to its topography. The 1983 Italian/French/Turkish film Yor, the Hunter from the Future was filmed in Cappadocia. The region was used for the 1989 science fiction film Slipstream to depict a cult of wind worshippers. In 2010 and early 2011, the film Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was also filmed in the Cappadocia region. Touristic Cappadocia includes 4 cities: Nevsehir, Kayseri, Aksaray and Nigde. The region is located southwest of the major city Kayseri, which has airline and railway service to Ankara and Istanbul and other cities. The most important towns and destinations in Cappadocia are Ürgüp, Goreme, Ihlara Valley, Selime, Guzelyurt, Uchisar, Avanos and Zelve. 



    3. Bodrum


    Bodrum is located in southern Aegean region of Turkey, it was once home to the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Now its most popular among foreign tourists and also a main reason to plan your dream vacation to Turkey. Castke of St. Peter , Mausoleum and Bodrum Theatre attracts tourists all around the world.
     Bodrum is a city on the Bodrum Peninsula, stretching from Turkey's southwest coast into the Aegean Sea. The city features twin bays with views of Bodrum Castle. Bodrum has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Csa in the Koeppen climate classification). Winter average is around 15 °C (59 °F) and in the summer 34 °C (93 °F), with very sunny spells. Summers are hot and mostly sunny and winters are mild and humid. Winter seasom January and February is the best time to visit Boderum . 

    4. Marmaris 


    Marmaris is a coastal town, a port city and a tourist destination on the southwest Mediterranean coast of Turkey, in the Mugla Province. Marmaris is one of the Turkey's most popular holiday towns and largest resorts on the Aegean coast. it is popular among tourists beacuse of its sandy white beaches, turquoise waters and historic architecture. Marmaris has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate characterised by a hot dry summer and mild rainy winter. Showers and rain are very unlikely between May and October. In Marmaris various boating tours take visitors to explore around it and give visitors a breathtaking view. Marmaris Marina, Dalyan Nehri, Dancing Fountains and Dalyan make it quite more impressive and awesome journey. 

    5. Antalya 


    Antalya is a large, vibrant city welcoming tourists with numerous resorts, hotels, bars and restaurants. Antalya is a Turkish resort city with a yacht-filled Old Harbor and beaches surrounded by large hotels. It's a gateway to Turkey's southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters. Antalya has many things to do like swimming,  and sailing to mountain climbing, sightseeing and family fun. It also includes city’s ancient past with views of the old city walls, Roman gates, maze-like streets and historic structures that include the Clock Tower.

    6. Hagia Sofia


    It is a church build  by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, it was converted to a mosque after some 900 years . The iconic Hagia Sofia is popular destination among tourists because of its beautiful architecture and museum. In 2015, 3.47 million people visited the Hagia Sophia . It contains two floors centered on a giant nave that has a great dome ceiling, along with smaller domes, towering above.

    7. Mardin


    Mardin is also a popular destination for tourists. Most of the photographers and tourists are attracted towards Mardin because of its beautiful and extravaganza views. It is one of the old settlements in Turkey and best known for its old city of sandstone buildings. The best way to explore the Mardin city is walking because it is situated down to the hill. Mardin is the capital of the Mardin Province and also known for its cultural diversity. Mardin has a hot-summer climate with hot, dry summers and cold, wet, and occasionally snowy winters. Temperatures in summer usually increase to 40 °C (104 °F) due to Mardin being situated right next to the border of Syria. Snowfall is quite common between the months of December and March, snowing for a week or two. The best time to visit Mardin is winter between the months of December and april.

    8. Ephesus


    Ruin of Ephesus is a city of colossal monuments and marble-columned roads. It is One of the most complete, still-standing Roman cities in the Mediterranean region. To explore Ephesus you need at least half a day or more. It was once, the trade centre of the ancient world, a religious centre of the early Christianity and today, Ephesus is an important tourism centre in Turkey. Mostly photographers and geologist visits this place but now it also popular among foreign tourists. You can visit Ephesus in any season.

    9. Aspendos


    Asphandos is also a common and popular tourist destination in Turkey. It is situated near Antalya and is a finest surviving example of a classical age theater still standing. It is best known for its theatre's architecture. You can visit the jaw dropping theatre in any season. It need near about half hour to explore, you can adjust your time to explore according to your planned trip and enjoy this beautiful place.

    10. Olu Deniz


    Olu Deniz is another famous tourist attraction in Turkey and it is dominated by its blue jewel lagoon. It is famous for its beautiful beach and paragliding activities which complete your trip to Turkey in an breathtaking manner. I think you need atleast two days to best explore this destination but if you have a short plan you can spend one day on this beach. This is not the last tourist destination, Turkey has a bulk of more tourist destinations its depend on your budget and precious time.
